Follow-up Comment #4, bug #55229 (project wget): We fixed several memleaks since wget 1.18. Please try to reproduce with the latest version (1.20). Maybe there is (or was ?) an issue that results in loading the last file (see your log) completely into memory. This is just a wild guess and not reproducible here.
