First, try to delete ddd's settings with:
rm -rf ~/.ddd/
(careful with that command, don't mistype it, you don't want to remove 
something important!)
Then try to start ddd (without sudo). This usually helps at my class.

When I opened my DDD I saw a hourglass pointer. I could not post the 
break-point or anything else. After that I opened it again by typing 'sudo ddd 
name_of_file' and it opened my DDD again. I did not see a hourglass pointer 
again, but it still could not do anything in it. I also reinstalled it twice, 
but it is still the same.
