How did you come about interpreting "" to mean you can study the code and then
make products based on it? An implementation based on what you learned would
be "TANGIBLE" and thus in violation. In fact, Microsoft could argue that a
whole range of software you write thereafter would be tangible works at least
in part, based on knowledge you obtained. Whether or not you obtained that
knowledge from someone else before or after doesn't change the fact that you
also obtained it from their source code.
Shared Source was a brilliant play by Microsoft, in securing their future.
That, next to political activism to effectively ban Free Software seems
likely to be their next wave of attack.
