I really liked afio for this; a bad block didn't make the entire archive 
garbage.  You of course lost your file where the error was, but that was it.

What currently happens to Duplicity when 
duplicity-full-[datetime].vol302.difftar.gpg is bad?  Is the 3400-volume 
archive garbage?
