Savannah went down this last week and recovery is in process. 0.6.0 is
going to be out this week if at all possible, but I need to wait for the
CVS repository to be restored before I can make the release.

Regrettably, this will not fix the problem that you're having with 300+
incremental backups in one chain. Maybe in 0.6.1. The only fix for
that at the moment is to increase the number of max open files using
'ulimit -n'. I would suggest doing a full backup ASAP. The chances of
being able to restore from such a long chain reduce with every backup
added to the chain.
