I would like to create an incremental backup that is based directly on
the full backup rather on the previous incremental backup. Is it
possible?
These are known as differential backups, and there was some discussion
on the list a while ago about adding them as a feature. For one thing
they are more resilient than incremental chains, as they don't break if
one chain "link" is missing.
For the devs, is there any chance of adding differentials as a feature?
Cheers,
