First I must say that I am warming to the idea of a default footer. I agree
that it is puzzling in the beginning to figure out what was used to create the
html that you end up with. I will also mention in contrast that if you look in
the header of anything created with eLyXer, it already has the following line:
<meta name="generator" content="http://www.nongnu.org/elyxer/"/>
Not obvious to a beginner, but it is there.
