But it is: Changes to core are done with consideration towards
users "out there", there is a deprecation mechanism, etc.
"Don't break users" is, I think, common to both. The colours may
vary :)

Sure, Lisp gives the user side more leverage than an ABI, which
is in resonance with the GNU philosophy.
