[FR-devel] Unable to start FreeRIDE

I am using FreeRIDE from CVS and any version later than Jun 23 does not start
on my system.
It causes high cpu load for an instant and then just sits there (when it works
it loads the cpu for quite a while on startup). If I break it with ^C it shows
this:

I tried running it in debugger and it shows there is only that one sleeping
thread at that point.
