Hi Hu tong zhi,
You are right. I could find only phonetic symbols(kana in japanese)
have proportional width in japanese fonts. I don't know the reason clearly,
but i think it is not necessary for kanji to have proportional width.

Thanks for telling me this! I guess proportional width characters in a
Japanese font are those Japanese phonetic symbols, right? I would be very
interested to know if there are any Chinese characters, or Kanji, in a
Japanese font that is not monospaced.
