There's no special needed skills for this tasks.
Only one thing is needed: constancy.

We a re a small comunity, but you are doing a great work with
translation, but I think that there's a lack of comunication.
I ask for reviews and proofreading here in mailing list, but nobody
answers, so don't know if a review was made or not... IMHO I think that
is the main issue to improve...
