Moin Guru's,

  the problem I had is solved by now - enough-namestring is doing enough
  to split the root and leading directory now. I still wonder why logical
  pathnames are defined but not used.
  
  gcl-04169.patch is on the web, at the usual place www.copyleft.de/lisp/
