Hello thing,
I think the only unofficial feature Gnash should add is Vorbis support so it can be distributed and used in places where MP3 is patented (US).
If only - Thomson and Fraunhofer claim multiple patents on MP3 in many countries around the world. These patents are a major obstacle for Linux distributions aiming to have multimedia support.
