I didn't propose "w32modem" -- w32 should be used in general sense,
i.e. "A w32 port for that program", "The w32 version fails to build".
"Soft[ware]modem" is a confusing word, because it presumes that the
modem could run with free software, which is not the case. The proper
term for these nefarious devices is "Lose-modem", see
