All,
I'm not going to get into the Launchpad debate, as last time I did,
somebody pointed-out the gmail is non-free, and I use that.
I'm not really sure how _upstream_ is managed, but just to answer my
silly question, when we raise a bug and notify the maintainer, is that
not sufficient? Surely this will then spread from the maintainer to
all distros that contain the buggy package, and not just Ubuntu for
example.
I am not trying to object to anything here, just to clarify in my mind
the best mechanism for making free (or not so free) software better.
Many thanks,
Chris.
