Your printer seems to be a one of the HP Photosmart C4200 all-in-one
series, probably the C4280 model. 

As a printer it should be fully supported by the HPLIP (>2.7.6)
driver (with full integration with CUPS), without requireing any
additional proprierary plugin/firmware to work properly - see:

It should be also supported either as a scanner (basic support, by the
SANE backend) and as a fax, see:

I cannot test it directly, but this should mean you would be able to
use it with gNewSense 2.3!

Note - Check if you have installed the hplip, hplip-gui, hpijs,
xsane/sane packages (maybe some other is needed...)
