I have a Nokia 6310i with Java. With windows you can use the Nokia Suite 
software that came with the phone. That software is capable to upload 
java software to the phone with com, IR of BlueTooth. Personal I was 
only able to do it with a cable.

In Linux you cannot deploy with a cable. The only way is to publish your 
java app to a wap server. And than download it with wap.

If someone can point me to a url with a windows com port sniffer or 
someting simulair to snif data between software and hardware.
