Thanks for the reply but no, I'm not sure of anything.

serial, dlr3p, dau9p all give this message:
address@hidden etc]# gnokii --identify
GNOKII Version 0.6.1
Telephone interface init failed: Command timed out.
Quitting.

m2bus gives this message and then kills the terminal:
address@hidden etc]# gnokii --identify
GNOKII Version 0.6.1
Telephone interface init failed: Function or connection type not
supported by the phone.
Quitting.
