And I now realize that I may have been vague in my question.  Some
specifics:

- This was a patch to get a Mobile Actions MA-8620E DKU-5 cable to
  probe under FreeBSD.

- The chipset probes as 'Prolific Technology PL2303 Serial
  adapter (ATEN/IOGEAR UC232A)'.

The full URL to the actual patch was

But I can't find that patch now, and am looking for pointers...
