I was wondering, are these commands documented somewhere? or are these just hit and trial commands? Would it be possible to build the communication layer in Java? If that would ease out the development process? If it is possible to build this layer in java, then i would be more than glad to help you guys out with it. The issue that i face in working with the C code is ....

1. I am not very comfortable with C
2. I am not aware of a good IDE that could help me with building the gnokii code. (This is not to say that I am tied down to using IDEs, but i would like to have a tool manage the code centrally for me)
3. I am facing difficulties in understanding the gnokii code at the moment.

If any of you on the list have suggestions, please voice it out.

Quite strange. Please run some kind of a terminal emulator (e.g. minicom,
kermit) and try to issue the following AT commands:

AT+CGMI
AT+CGMM
AT+CGMR
AT+GMI
AT+GMM
AT+GMR
ATI0
ATI3
ATI2

Please let me know the result.
