newbie trouble with ca42 + opensuse 10.3 + 5140i

I can't seem to get my thing working - and:
I don't know if the error(s) come(s) from:

1: me
2: suse (boot.msg:<5>Linux version 2.6.22.5-31-default) or
3: gnokii

can You tell me, or am I slightly off topic;-)

I try to find out which usb-device i must use, i do it this way 
(if You know a better -please tell me!)

clon62:~ # dmesg # and then look for the UART and the address above:

Now I try 'port = /dev/usbdev4.6_epXX' for every combination in /etc/gnokiirc
like this:
