Gnokii/SMSd and SQLite DB Driver

I want to add SQLite3 (http://www.sqlite.org/) to smsd.

Is anyone working on it? Do you see any issues/pit falls? particularly
file locking?

Any other thing that I should keep in mind while adding this driver?
