Build issue with gnokii-0.6.27

I have downloaded the source from  http://www.gnokii.org/download/gnokii/

In the source directory I do.

./configure --enable-smsd --enable-security

here is what I get

Please note, the smsd support is disabled and I cannot turn it on and
"make" does not produce any smsd binary.

What a I missing? INSTALL file in source tree refers to autogen.sh but
the file is missing from the package.
