Follow-up Comment #1, bug #63490 (project gnuastro):
Here is a screenshot of the outputs of the commands in the previous post (in
the attached 'polygon-1-screenshot.png' file):

The region is shown as the blue polygon, and the white pixels are the actually
cropped pixels when given this region.
