[gnugo-devel] USE_BDIST time measurements

I did some timing measurements with USE_BDIST set to 1 in owl.c.
I was surprised to find that with USE_BDIST=1, GNU go is slightly
faster, both on OSF and on W2K with cygwin.

3.3.13 owl.tst    540s     527s    cc -O2, OSF1 V5.1
3.3.13 owl.tst    153s     149s    gcc -g -O2, W2K, cygwin, gcc 3.2
3.3.14 all tests 9469s    9453s    gcc -g -O2, W2K, cygwin, gcc 3.2

The attached file log_1.txt gives the regression delta relative to 3.3.14
for all batches with USE_BDIST=1. A total of 5 FAILs and 2 PASSes.

As USE_BDIST=1 reduces the reorientation inconsistencies and it apparently
doesn't take more time, I propose to make USE_BDIST=1 the default.
