One dan. As it turns out, both patterns were played exclusively by the
same player, "naoki" on NNGS, rated 1-2d. He or she had reasonable results
with both, winning 27/38 of games matching the first pattern, 23/29 of the
second, mostly against 1-2d opponents. In the second set, 27 of the games
were against the same opponent, "q2".

Requiring that a move gets played by more than one player seems like a
good idea.
