[Gnumed-devel] Database issues

Been offline for a while: I switched to a gnu.org account, they their
server went on the blink, looks as if its going to stay that way for a
little while.

PostgreSQL on Windows: can be done, obviously not as stable, but the users
have already made that sacrifice to being with.

Installation requires some command-line work (its in the manual), but this
only has to be done once per practice, the client will be a single windows
.EXE, when I get it done....

Normcurves:
How will they be licenced? GNU documentation licence would be best, then
they can live in the code tree.
If christof could write a python module to load the xml, and with
functions
to return centiles for given age, height, weight, a widget can be written
easily.
Sending the data: (if you've already considered this, please ignore), the
easiest way would be to use the python-ssl library, then https can be used
to send the data to a server securely.

database structure:
IMHO, the immediate next step is to connect gmDemographics fully to the
backend,
using what Syan Tan wrote as a guide. At this point the *backend* becomes
the rate-limiting factor: demographics is the only working database
service at present.

We need to come up with a general "medical history" structure. We started
doing this at the conference, but the copy isn't around (david: do you
have a copy?)
