There's a new plugin mainly useful in German of for German
patients moving elsewhere. It implements a (standalone|plugin)
viewer for the patient data text format xDT. The plugin will
eventually evolve into an interactive xDT import module.
The xDT format is is in wide use in Germany for exchange of
patient data with medical devices, claims processing houses,
labs and between systems of different EMR manufacturers.
The standalone version is yet another one of those
foot-in-the-door applications for getting GnuMed into doctor's
offices :-) The xDT format is rather deficient in several
aspects of describing the data contained within. Thus it is
often desirable to keep around the xDT data exported from the
old system for future reference even after importing some of
it into a new system. Our viewer can serve as a free,
extendable, customizable viewer for such data. We will, of
course, *import* into GnuMed only :-) But even if no GnuMed
is used at all the viewer can be useful ...
To marvel at the thing and point out the bugs and gulps people
need to delete their then-outdated plugin load order
configuratino in the GnuMed database. Also, make sure your
plugins.conf lists gmXdtViewer or is absent such as to force a
directory scan of the "gui" plugin directory.
Currently, no import is supported at all, just browsing xDT
files.
Kudos go to Sebastian Hilbert for coding the thing. I ported
the stuff to the GnuMed plugin API.
