Thanks, that certainly solved that problem, now I am back to segfaults.
Nothing suspicious appears in the gnumed.log file. I still get the
segfault when trying to bootstrap too. I have the following versions
installed:

python 2.2.2
wxPython 2.4.0.6
gtk+ 2.2.1
postgresql 7.3.2
egenix-mx-base 2.0.4
pypgsql 2.3

Any ideas where to start?
