Dear all!
We have had our database created in Unicode for a while.
GnuMed now also properly sets the client encoding on
connections from the option <client encoding> in group
[backend] in the gnumed.conf. gmPG.GetConnection() can
override that encoding setting on a per-request basis for
read-write connections (not so for read-only connections since
those are cached).
