I do not know this.

Just for the record from Debian Conference: There are two guys working on
a new concept for Synaptic which implements package tags which will probably
make it way much better to use and find interesting packages much more easily.

Sorry, I can't comment on it because I do not use it.

With Cups it should no real problem.

Perhaps I might add here that you can always get really great help in Debian
user lists. There is no real need to bother you in private with certain
problems.

I think there are no issues with GnuMed and Debian. The Debian packages are
just not *ready* but installing GnuMed on Debian should be as easy as on any
other distribution (provided that you choose at least the current Debian
testing distribution - I do not know which state your Debian derivate has).

Horst is not the only onw who swears by Debian as the very successful LinuxTag
has proven. ;-)

I have heard good things about libranet but have zero experience with it.

Kind regards

       Andreas.

PS: Todo-List for the next time:
     1. Fix some bugs on other Debian packages which have shown up over
my vacation and bundle new wordnet (1-2 weeks)
     2. Sort out my slides from Norway ;-) (1-2 weeks)
     3. Continue working on GnuMed Packages - so you can expect new
packages in September - just bother me if there is a certain
reason to package a more recent CVS snapshot than currently
        exists.
