It is needed to install cvs which is a prerequisite to install & run
the server code. I am guessing that even if one wanted only to install
and run the client with a plan to connect to Karsten's public server,
cvs is also the only way to install the client (it not having yet been
packaged separately).
Upon installing the tools, the Mac cvs will be written by default into:
/Developer/Documentation/DeveloperTools/cvs
