Okay, I'm convinced too.
But we *still* use the GNUMED_DIR hackery to find the gnumed logo, and the 
documentation:

No way ! I think Hilmar has it right. Mostly generally useful
modules should go there, say python-common/, maybe business/.

Yes the current setup.py will just install "packages" to site-packages. All other static data like docs and bitmaps will go to /usr/share.
