Yes, the update function does seem to work. Required about 2 minutes 
although there is nothing to indicate what is happening (no feedback to 
the user). In a future version it might be helpful if, when invoked 
(and until it has completed) the "update" function displays a 
mini-dialog "Updating..." although perhaps this requires a tool set 
that the installer/app does not contain.
