Don't forget , K is writing not just for his own installation, but
everyone who has CVS access;
and also it's also python ( now I can't resist), which despite it's
lovely list expressions and
almost functional programming language like syntax, isn't statically
typed, and can't have
a automatic build and compilation error detection , so it can be quite
difficult to
commit a version of the source that is running. To be fair, really big
projects like eclipse
have nightly downloadable versions, and integration builds, milestone
builds, and usually only the release builds
which occur maybe 3 times a year work properly.
