Hi, I am forwarding this one to the list again, because I wasn't sure whether it made it past Karsten's spam filter.

Hi Karsten,

recently I had to make an online store for uni. Used FOSS Zen Cart
(www.zen-cart.com). They provide an add-in module
(zencart_world_zones_v1_0.zip - sql script for MySQL db) that creates a
table with a very comprehensive list of 'zones' per country.

To give you also the country list, I dumped both the countries and zones
table from my db (countries.sql, zones.sql), so you should not need the
zencart_world_zones_v1_0.zip at all. If you need a different format
(XML, CSV,...) let me know. Hope that helps.

Keep up the good work for gnuMED. Unfortunately I am too busy to help
right now. My work with openEHR is coming along. I am working on an GUI
Generator that uses archetype information to automatically build a GUI
in XUL, which communicates with the kernel (middleware component that
combines the openEHR Reference Model and the Archetype Object Model) via
Web Services.

Thilo

Dear all,

in order to keep the data in the backend consistent and in
good shape it is useful to provide pre-installed values
wherever useful and possible. One such place is a list of
states per country. We already have an "exhaustive" list of
countries and also have state lists for AU, DE and ES.

If you don't live in either of those please help by sending a
list of states for your country. The list should contain: the
country, that names of the states and official abbreviations
for each of them.

Regardless of whether we decide to allow free-text enty into
state fields or not - it makes sense to provide useful
defaults.

Thanks,
Karsten
