just wanted to report gnumed was able to handle the import of 14626 patients,
records upto 7 years old, documents and progress notes, using up 4.2 G ; import
process with 2 computers ( ~ 1.8 MHZ each ) , across 100Mbit link, about 14
hours. So far, most opened records look fairly clean and structured, and the
documents seem to be all there.  
  The private use is as  portable read access to medical records when doing
offsite consultations,
so not just relying only on memory when consulting . Although password 
protected,
will need to
also look into encrypted file system at some stage.
