I wonder if people running on one of Apple's newer intel-based iMacs, if they were to download a free 15 day trial version of Parallels Desktop, could install Linux as a guest OS (inside Parallels's virtual machine) and then run VMware desktop for Linux.

A thread suggests that on the Mac (from the point of view of gaming anyway) the performance may be, from fastest to slowest,
        Native OS (under Bootcamp) -> Cider -> Crossover -> Parallels -> VMWare
