thanks for the report.

I cannot reproduce this behaviour. You are running on Ubuntu
which ships an outdated version of GNUmed. Please upgrade as
described here:

        http://wiki.gnumed.de/bin/view/UbuntuGuideShort

When you try again please make sure the have the "debugging"
field checked in the login dialog so we get the information
we need.

Other than that I can only guess that you didn't enter the
date of birth in a format valid for GNUmed. The new-person
wizard should tell you. Later versions are better at this.
