I have added the --local-import command line option to gnumed.py which makes GNUmed adjust the Python path to enable local (rather than system-wide) import of modules. Thereby to run GNUmed from a local copy of the source tree no more shell level fiddling with PYTHONPATH is required. Just run gnumed.py with --local-import.
