Hello Marc,
this seems to me a fairly rare condition which only happens
if that machine has never had any sort of GNUmed database
installed. Thanks for reporting.
I have tightened an error check in the bootstrapper which
very well might have produced the problem -- this came about
by some refactoring earlier.
Please check out CVS again and retry and report what happens.
