The database for client 0.3.x is v9. The database for 0.4 is
v10.

Currently we don't yet have Debian server packages ready to
go. So you'd need to download the server tarball and do it
manually ...

It's all in the log file which can be viewed from the
Help / Debug menu.

Sure: it's mentioned on the ReleaseStatus page. Also there's
a table in pycommon/gmPG2.py mapping client branches to
required database versions.

The client itself checks upon startup whether the user
selected a compatible database.
