What would be a generic English term for an "instance" of an
organisation.
Let's assume the conceptual organisation is something like:
WHO
Ottawa District General Hospital
Jim's Praxis
IBM
"instances" thereof would then be
WHO Headquarters, Elms Street, Geneva, CH
Pan(ick)demic Committee, WHO Headquarters, Elms Street, Geneva, CH
Ottawa DGH ER, Ambulance Street 7, Ottawa, CA
Ottawa DGH Cancer Followup Care, Hope Lane 55, Ottawa, CA
Jim's Praxis, Care Street 22, Ninimuk, CA
So, in some cases there will only ever be one instance while
in others there can be many -- geographically distributed or
logically distributed within one geographic location of a
(typically large) organisation.
I don't want the users to worry about the right
organisational level of putting in data. We only support two
levels:
1) the organisation as such ("IBM")
2) any of the organisation's branches, offices, departments,
... (IBM outlet in Somewhere, Nebraska)
So:
branch
office
department
division
bureau
fraction
partition
section
shop
ward
I would favour branch.
