Perhaps the total tracks id3 field is interfereing with the sorting process? Sorting once a song list gets to XMMS is fine though. Is there a sort_order setup in the theme you're using? If so that will override the global setting. If you look in /usr/share/gnump3d/THEME_NAME/config.ini You migth see a sort_order setting there. Steve -- As a test I eliminated the "sort_order = $TRACK" in my config.ini for my current theme. Then I set the sorting via Preferences to "Artist, Album, Track". This is typical of the sorting when I click on an album name: * Stream Download Info 08/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - So What? * Stream Download Info 10/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - Channel One Suite * Stream Download Info 03/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - Ya Gotta Try * Stream Download Info 09/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - A Little Train * Stream Download Info 07/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - Bugle Call Rag * Stream Download Info 02/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - Willowcrest * Stream Download Info 06/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - Cape Verdean Blues * Stream Download Info 04/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - Tales of Rhoda Rat * Stream Download Info 05/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - Time Check * Stream Download Info 01/10 - Buddy Rich - Wham! - Time Out However, if I set the sorting to only "Track Number" then the sorting is fine. However if I send multiple albums to xmms all the track 1's from each album are grouped at the top of the playlist. That's why I've been choosing to sort by "Artist, Album, Track" -- to keep artists and albums separated and to sort by track number -- but it isn't working as expected. Perhaps the sort process is only sorting on the first few characters and needs a larger buffer upon which to sort? Regards, Stan |
