Hi,

David just pointed me to this thread, since I first suspected sth. completely 
different could cause breaking the configure of -base. I also just recognized, 
that configuring -base seems to be broken for me with clang-3.0.
I can live with that parameter, but the name makes me kind of scary, thinking I 
might now miss a a feature that I had working before...
