The code works, Few lines of code and easy to modify.  I'm more
interested in how to display it for the user.

That does look nice.  No sats, no map, units/leapsec/status broken,
otherwise looks much nicer than gpsd.php.  I'll steal some of
your formatting ideas.

Yours uses mixed php and python.  A single language is preferable.

I'm going to install PHP on a RasPi for gpsd.php.  A Python only
version would avoid having to install PHP.
