Yes, we should stop here. I have explained all questions even in my
first text in the gitlab ticket. At least my patch should clarify
the remaining misunderstandings. Also, I have supplied a simple example
to reproduce the problem.

But it seems, no one is really interested in handling a bug report
like it should be, i. e. analyzing the explanation and the patch and
reproducing the attached example. (One can simply replace gpsmon
with another, supposedly more suitable, client.)

It makes no sense for me to talk with someone who says:

Understanding and a test equipment is necessary to solve a bug.

So, do what you want with the ticket. The bug remains.
