Friends,
If the first line of a block-style .if request must be terminated
with a backslash, how does one insert an inline comment? The actual
text in my document is:
.ie \n[FormatterPass]=1 \{\" On the first pass, open a file to store
. open SecondPassFile /tmp/tempx\" forward references and
. ds useModelSectionNumber 0\" initialize string registers.
.\}
.el .if \n[FormatterPass]=2 \{\" On the second pass, source the file
. so /tmp/tempx\" which defines the forward references
. sy rm -f /tmp/tempx\" and then remove it.
.\}
Does the comment-to-end-of-line (\") actually introduce a blank line?
