I used to run a mirror of the #gzz logs in
http://www.mit.jyu.fi/antkaij/mirror/ (mostly for backup purposes).
I have now disabled its update.
(BTW, the it-faculty admins have a backup system that works in Debian.
I use it on my workstation. Unfortunately, it is non-free stuff.)
