Oh dear, I thought I'd declared that irrelevant. Or maybe I didn't because xu_text--benja was still current. Now that it's accepted, I think xu_text--benja is the better technology for doing fake spans, too (it makes the security concerns about miniblocks disappear: you can quote part of the miniblock w/o exposing the rest).


Just amend the xu_text to override this, that's ok.     

Not really, since you accepted xu_text, making it immutable. :-) I guess I need to write a new PEG...


Actually, how about a PEG defining current preferred formats
for different blocks? I.e. png, jpeg, pdf,

That sounds good. Can you do this?

Faketext is not a format (MIME type) so I'd leave it out of this :) text/plain with a Unicode charset belongs on the list, though.
